On July 1st, 2009, over 500 demonstrators marched with the "safe ground pioneers" to protest the loss of over 200 shelter beds - and claim a safe place to sleep - "safe ground."
SafeGroundSac.org is an idea whose time has come, a low-cost, self-governed, "green" campsite - at little or no cost to the taxpayer - a way to save money and save lives.

It may not be glamorous, but it sure is the right thing to do - to raise a voice for human rights for all, rich and poor. Surely we all have a right to sleep.
