On April 1st, 2009, Emmy award-winning filmmaker Costa Mantis moved into “tent city” in Sacramento, CA with his movie camera and lived in a tent amongst 200 plus homeless residents for 21 days – the last 21 days before city officials closed tent city.
In the face of adversity and uncertainty Costa filmed, interviewed, wrote, narrated, edited and uploaded daily reports on youTube while embedded as a resident of tent city.
No one in their right mind would willingly move into tent city with camera gear, so it had to have been divine intervention that brought Costa here. He has now moved to Sacramento indefinitely to help the homeless people - now friends - get the safe ground they humanly deserve.
